About Cards51
[DRAFT] The founder story below is a placeholder. Replace every [DRAFT] block, set the author name in src/data/site.ts, and remove the noindex tag.
In short
Cards51 is a free place to play the card games you grew up with: big cards you can read without glasses, no sign-up, no timers, and every point explained in plain words.
Why I built this
[DRAFT] Founder story, 2–3 short paragraphs, first person. Suggested beats: the real kitchen table (who taught you cribbage, where, what the board looked like); the moment the online versions let you down (tiny cards, pop-ups, timers, “sign in to continue”); the promise you made instead.
[DRAFT] One specific, checkable detail beats any adjective, e.g. the year you learned, the name of the person who taught you, the game you lost on a 29 hand.
What we promise every player
- Big, clear cards. The rank fills 40% of the card’s width, and you can make cards even larger in settings.
- No sign-up, no timers. Take as long as you like. Undo as many times as you want.
- Every point explained. The game says why you scored, in words: “Fifteen two, and a pair is four.”
- Rules you can trust. Our cribbage rules follow the American Cribbage Congress. Where home games differ, we say so.
How we check the rules
Every rules page lists its sources at the bottom. For cribbage that is the American Cribbage Congress tournament rulebook, cross-checked against long-standing references. Example hands on our pages are scored by the same engine that runs the game, and that engine is covered by automated tests.
