How to play gin rummy in 60 seconds
- Each player gets 10 cards. One card is turned face up to start the discard pile.
- On your turn, take the face-up card or draw from the stock, then discard one card.
- Group your cards into sets (three or four of a kind) and runs (three or more in a row, same suit).
- Cards that don't fit are unmatched. When they add up to 10 or less, you can knock. None at all is gin: 25 bonus points.
- The lower unmatched total scores the difference. First to 100 points wins.
Questions people ask
Is this gin rummy game free?
Yes. No sign-up, no downloads, no timers. Your game is saved on this device, so you can come back to it tomorrow.
How do I know when I can knock?
The Knock button tells you in words. It shows your unmatched total and turns on as soon as it is 10 or less after your discard.
What happens when I knock?
Both hands are shown. The computer lays off any cards that fit your sets and runs, and the game explains the points line by line: the difference in unmatched cards, or 25 extra for gin or an undercut.
Can I take back a move?
Yes. Undo has no limit in a game against the computer. Hint suggests a move and says why.
