Privacy policy

[DRAFT – needs review] Plain-language draft written from how the site works today. Have it reviewed before launch, and update it before adding analytics, ads, accounts or family tables. Remove the noindex tag when final.

The short version

  • You do not need an account. We do not ask for your name, email or phone number to play.
  • Your games, lesson progress and settings are saved on your own device (in your browser’s local storage), not on our servers.
  • We do not sell personal information.

What is stored on your device

To let you continue a game and keep your settings, your browser stores: the game in progress, your lesson progress, and preferences such as card size, theme and computer level. You can clear it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings. Clearing it deletes your saved games.

The site can also save its pages on your device so the games work offline (a “service worker”). This is a copy of our own pages, not information about you.

What our servers and partners see

  • Hosting. The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any website host, it processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. [DRAFT – needs review] Link Cloudflare’s privacy policy and confirm log retention.
  • Fonts. Our fonts load from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google’s servers when a page opens. [DRAFT – needs review] Consider self-hosting the fonts to remove this.
  • Visitor statistics. [DRAFT – needs review] If we add privacy-friendly statistics (counting visits without cookies), name the tool here and what it collects.
  • Advertising. There is no advertising today. If that changes, this policy will be updated first.

Children

The site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
