Double means both copies of every card in the meld, such as all eight aces. It replaces the single meld; it is not added to it.
The class rule: one card may count in several melds only if they are of different classes. The K♠ can be in a spade marriage (A) and in kings around (B), but not in two marriages. The run's K and Q of trump are not also a royal marriage.
Counters (points in tricks): every ace, ten and king you win = 10. Last trick = 10. Total 250 per hand. In 2-handed, the classic count is A 11, 10 = 10, K 4, Q 3, J 2.

Pinochle meld scoring: how to count your meld
- Sort your cards by suit, trump first.
- Look for class A melds in trump: a run, a royal marriage, and each nine of trump (the dix).
- Look for marriages (king and queen) in the other three suits.
- Look for class B: one ace, king, queen or jack in every suit.
- Look for class C: the jack of diamonds with the queen of spades.
- Add it all up. A card can count again in another meld only if that meld is of a different class.
