Hand and Foot Score Sheet
Quick answer
Print a large-type Hand and Foot score sheet for two teams: four rounds with the first-meld minimum (50, 90, 120, 150) beside each, columns for books, red threes, going out and card points, and a box to write your family's house rules. Or use the online score keeper below; it does the adding up for you.

One page per game. Write the points (not the number of books) in each box: for example, 2 clean books in the Classic rules is 2 × 500 = 1,000.

How to fill in the score sheet
- Before the first deal, fill in the house-rules box so nobody argues later.
- When a round ends, count each team's books and write their bonus points: clean 500, dirty 300, wild 1,500 in the Classic rules (500 and 300 in Simple).
- Add 100 for each red three laid down, and 100 for the team that went out.
- Count the card points of everything each team melded, books included: jokers 50, aces and twos 20, eight to king 10, four to seven 5.
- Count the cards left in each player's hand and foot and subtract them. A red three still in a hand or foot counts minus 100.
- Add up the round total and the running total. The minimum for the next round is printed in the next row.
On the online score keeper, red threes count minus for a side that melded nothing at all, as in Canasta. New to the game? Read the Hand and Foot rules, step by step.

Questions people ask
How do you keep score in Hand and Foot?
After each round, every side adds its book bonuses (clean 500, dirty 300, wild 1500 in the Classic rules), 100 for each red three, 100 for going out and the points of all its melded cards, then subtracts the cards left in hand and foot. Add the round total to the running total. After round 4, the highest total wins.
Is there a Hand and Foot score app?
Yes, the score keeper on this page works in any phone, tablet or computer browser, with nothing to install. Pick Classic, Simple or your own rules, type each side’s numbers after a round and it keeps the running totals. It remembers the game on your device if you close the page.
What are the meld minimums on the score sheet?
Round 1: 50, round 2: 90, round 3: 120, round 4: 150. That is the smallest first meld (in card points) a side may lay down in that round. The sheet prints them next to each round so nobody has to remember.
What paper does the score sheet print on?
US Letter, portrait; it also fits A4. It uses black ink only. In the print window you can choose “Save as PDF” to keep a copy.
Do the cards in a book count as well as the book bonus?
Yes. A book earns its bonus, and the cards in it also count their normal values, like any melded cards. Write the bonus in the book columns and the card values under card points.
